Key Duties & Responsibilities
Managing and coordinating the ceremonial crew is a central part of the role, ensuring that funerals are delivered to a high standard. You’ll use a blend of manual and digital tools to organise schedules, plan the transport of both people and belongings, and support viewing arrangements respectfully. Deputising for the Care Logistics Manager may be required, and you’ll handle sensitive tasks with empathy, working closely with local stakeholders to adapt and improve service delivery. Analytical thinking and process improvement are also important day-to-day responsibilities.
What We Like
One major highlight is the sense of purpose; you make a tangible difference to people during meaningful moments. The career offers a welcoming environment and lets you see the impact of your work daily. Co-op’s generous perks, including staff discounts and emphasis on wellbeing, add strong appeal. Continuous learning and progression opportunities give the role additional value for motivated team players.
What to Consider
The work is both physically and emotionally demanding, often requiring lifting and dealing with sensitive situations. Applicants must have resilience, empathy, and discretion. The full-time commitment means limited flexibility, which may not suit those seeking part-time hours. Manual handling experience and a driving licence are non-negotiable requirements.

The Care Logistics Lead offers a balance of rewarding, people-focused work and excellent benefits. It’s ideal for empathetic, organised professionals with leadership potential and a strong sense of service. While demanding, the role’s support systems and opportunities for further development make it a compelling option for those dedicated to helping others.
